Australian Bushfires

You may be aware of the fires which have destroyed large areas of native forest in Queensland, Victoria, and New South Wales. The cost to wildlife has been enormous - over 2,000 homes have been destroyed and 21 lives have been lost. Although the areas affected seem immense, be reminded that Australia is a very large country and most of it is unaffected, including major cities and towns. You can help Australia's road to recovery by planning a holiday when you come to IPSA in October.

We recommend the following tourist attractions open for visitors:

  • Enjoy the Brisbane river and islands off the coast
  • Explore the Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree National Park in Far North Queensland
  • Visit Uluru-Kata Tjuta and Kakadu National Parks in the Northern Territory
  • Travel south and visit Sydney
    • Climb the Harbour Bridge
    • Attend a concert in the opera house and swim at Bondi Beach
  • Travel to Melbourne
    • See the fairy penguins at Phillip Island
    • Go to a match at the MCG
    • Taverse along the Great Ocean Road

For longer stays, spend time exploring Tasmania, Adelaide or Perth. Come DownUnder and stay a while to help Australia recover while enjoying the holiday of a lifetime!
